Tato metoda zahrnuje cyklick\u00e9 zap\u00edn\u00e1n\u00ed a vyp\u00edn\u00e1n\u00ed nap\u00e1jec\u00edho nap\u011bt\u00ed ve velmi kr\u00e1tk\u00fdch \u010dasov\u00fdch intervalech. Tento parametr ur\u010duje, po jakou dobu trv\u00e1n\u00ed jednoho cyklu PWM je nap\u00e1jec\u00ed nap\u011bt\u00ed (v tomto p\u0159\u00edpad\u011b dod\u00e1van\u00e9 do motoru) zapnut\u00e9. Podle technick\u00fdch \u00fadaj\u016f je \u00fabytek nap\u011bt\u00ed na ovlada\u010di motoru L298N p\u0159ibli\u017en\u011b 2 V. Je to zp\u016fsobeno vnit\u0159n\u00edm \u00fabytkem nap\u011bt\u00ed na p\u0159echodech sp\u00ednac\u00edch tranzistor\u016f, kter\u00e9 tvo\u0159\u00ed &#8220;H&#8221; m\u016fstek. P\u0159ipoj\u00edme-li tedy na nap\u00e1jec\u00ed svorky motoru 12V, budou motory dost\u00e1vat maxim\u00e1ln\u00ed nap\u011bt\u00ed kolem 10V. To znamen\u00e1, \u017ee pokud k regul\u00e1toru p\u0159ipoj\u00edme motor se jmenovit\u00fdm nap\u011bt\u00edm 12V, nikdy se nebude ot\u00e1\u010det maxim\u00e1ln\u00edmi ot\u00e1\u010dkami deklarovan\u00fdmi v\u00fdrobcem. Velikost proudu dod\u00e1van\u00e9ho do motoru v\u0161ak z\u00e1vis\u00ed na nap\u00e1jec\u00edm nap\u011bt\u00ed \u0159\u00eddic\u00ed jednotky. Pro ka\u017ed\u00fd v\u00fdstupn\u00ed kan\u00e1l regul\u00e1toru L298N jsou k dispozici dva typy \u0159\u00eddic\u00edch v\u00fdvod\u016f, kter\u00e9 n\u00e1m umo\u017e\u0148uj\u00ed \u0159\u00eddit rychlost a sm\u011br stejnosm\u011brn\u00fdch motor\u016f sou\u010dasn\u011b, tj. v\u00fdvody pro \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed sm\u011bru a v\u00fdvody pro \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed rychlosti. Pomoc\u00ed v\u00fdvod\u016f pro \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed sm\u011bru m\u016f\u017eeme \u0159\u00eddit, zda se m\u00e1 motor ot\u00e1\u010det ve sm\u011bru nebo proti sm\u011bru hodinov\u00fdch ru\u010di\u010dek. Tyto v\u00fdvody ve skute\u010dnosti ovl\u00e1daj\u00ed tranzistory v m\u016fstkov\u00e9m obvodu typu ,,H&#8221;, kter\u00fd se nach\u00e1z\u00ed uvnit\u0159 integrovan\u00e9ho obvodu L298N. Modul m\u00e1 pro ka\u017ed\u00fd kan\u00e1l dva v\u00fdvody pro \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed sm\u011bru. Piny IN1 a IN2 ovl\u00e1daj\u00ed sm\u011br ot\u00e1\u010den\u00ed motoru A, zat\u00edmco piny IN3 a IN4 ovl\u00e1daj\u00ed sm\u011br ot\u00e1\u010den\u00ed motoru B. Pomoc\u00ed pulzn\u011b \u0161\u00ed\u0159kov\u00e9 modulace (PWM) m\u016f\u017eeme skute\u010dn\u011b \u0159\u00eddit rychlost motor\u016f. Modul se obvykle dod\u00e1v\u00e1 s propojkou na t\u011bchto pinech. Kdy\u017e je tato propojka na m\u00edst\u011b, motor je zapnut\u00fd a ot\u00e1\u010d\u00ed se maxim\u00e1ln\u00ed rychlost\u00ed. Pokud chceme \u0159\u00eddit ot\u00e1\u010dky motor\u016f programov\u011b, mus\u00edme propojky odstranit a p\u0159ipojit je k pin\u016fm se zapnut\u00fdm generov\u00e1n\u00edm PWM na Arduinu. Nap\u00e1jen\u00ed motoru zaji\u0161\u0165uje pin VCC. To se m\u016f\u017ee pohybovat v rozmez\u00ed 5 a\u017e 35 V. Pokud je na m\u00edst\u011b propojka 5V-EN, dod\u00e1vejte nap\u011bt\u00ed o 2V vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed, ne\u017e je skute\u010dn\u00fd po\u017eadavek na jmenovit\u00e9 nap\u011bt\u00ed motoru pro dosa\u017een\u00ed maxim\u00e1ln\u00ed rychlosti motoru. GND je spole\u010dn\u00fd zemnic\u00ed kol\u00edk. V\u00fdvod 5V poskytuje nap\u00e1jen\u00ed pro sp\u00ednac\u00ed logick\u00e9 obvody uvnit\u0159 integrovan\u00e9ho obvodu L298N. Pokud je na m\u00edst\u011b propojka 5V-EN, funguje tento pin jako v\u00fdstup a lze jej pou\u017e\u00edt k nap\u00e1jen\u00ed Arduina. Pokud je propojka 5V-EN odstran\u011bna, mus\u00ed b\u00fdt p\u0159ipojen k pinu 5V na Arduinu. V\u00fdvod ENA slou\u017e\u00ed k ovl\u00e1d\u00e1n\u00ed rychlosti motoru A. Nastaven\u00edm tohoto v\u00fdvodu na vysokou hodnotu (p\u0159i zachov\u00e1n\u00ed jumperu na m\u00edst\u011b) se motor A rozto\u010d\u00ed a nastaven\u00edm stejn\u00e9ho v\u00fdvodu na n\u00edzkou hodnotu se motor zastav\u00ed. Odstran\u011bn\u00ed propojky a p\u0159ipojen\u00ed tohoto pinu ke vstupu PWM n\u00e1m umo\u017en\u00ed \u0159\u00eddit rychlost motoru A. Piny IN1 a IN2 se pou\u017e\u00edvaj\u00ed k \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed sm\u011bru ot\u00e1\u010den\u00ed motoru A. Kdy\u017e je jeden z nich ve vysok\u00e9m stavu a druh\u00fd v n\u00edzk\u00e9m, motor A se za\u010dne ot\u00e1\u010det. Pokud jsou oba vstupy ve vysok\u00e9m nebo n\u00edzk\u00e9m stavu, motor A se zastav\u00ed. Piny IN3 a IN4 se pou\u017e\u00edvaj\u00ed k \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed sm\u011bru ot\u00e1\u010den\u00ed motoru B. Pokud je jeden z nich ve vysok\u00e9m stavu a druh\u00fd v n\u00edzk\u00e9m stavu, motor B se bude ot\u00e1\u010det. Pokud jsou oba vstupy ve vysok\u00e9m nebo n\u00edzk\u00e9m stavu, motor B se zastav\u00ed. V\u00fdvod ENB se pou\u017e\u00edv\u00e1 k \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed ot\u00e1\u010dek motoru B. P\u0159esunut\u00edm tohoto kol\u00edku do vysok\u00e9ho stavu (p\u0159i zachov\u00e1n\u00ed jumperu na m\u00edst\u011b) se motor B rozto\u010d\u00ed, zat\u00edmco p\u0159esunut\u00edm tohoto kol\u00edku do n\u00edzk\u00e9ho stavu se motor zastav\u00ed. Odstran\u011bn\u00edm propojky a p\u0159ipojen\u00edm tohoto pinu k v\u00fdstupu PWM budeme moci \u0159\u00eddit rychlost motoru B. V\u0161imn\u011bte si, \u017ee oba v\u00fdstupn\u00ed piny Arduina, tj. \u010d. 9 a \u010d. 3, podporuj\u00ed PWM. Nakonec p\u0159ipoj\u00edme jeden motor ke svorce A (OUT1 a OUT2) a druh\u00fd motor ke svorce B (OUT3 a OUT4).
